1. What’s an OSB board?
An OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is engineered wood made from layers of compressed wood strands bonded with adhesives, designed to be durable, strong, and robust.
2. Are OSB boards waterproof?
No – OSB boards are not waterproof. They are water-resistant, meaning they handle moisture better than standard plywood, but they may not be suitable for permanent water exposure.
3. Can OSB Class 3 be used outdoors?
Class 3 boards are moisture-RESISTANT and can be used in exterior applications such as roofing and wall sheathing, provided the edges are sealed and the board isn’t continuously exposed to water.
4. What sizes and thicknesses are available?
We stock 8' x 4' sheets in 11mm and 18mm thicknesses, with bulk discounts available for 20 sheets or more.
5. Can OSB be cut to size?
Yes - we offer a cutting service on most our Sheet Materials at £0.60 per cut. For multiple or complex cuts, please contact the office for a quote.
